Yin Yoga for Deep Rest
Led by Lauri Glenn
Are you curious about Yin Yoga? Wondering what the heck it is and what all the hype is about? Yin Yoga is the perfect complement and missing link to our more active, muscular (yang) lifestyles. It is a practice that exercises the joint, joint capsule, tendons and ligaments in a safe way to build strength, mobility and resilience. In this two-hour workshop, we will cover the following:
- Yin/Yang Theory from Traditional Chinese Medicine.
- Mindfulness practices that apply directly to Yin Yoga.
- What Yin & Yang tissues are in the body and why each type needs different exercise.
- How Yin Yoga can increase strength, mobility and resilience in the dense connective tissue.
- How to practice Yin Yoga safely and effectively with the Four Principles of practice.
After some discussion, you will experience a relaxing and rejuvenating Yin Yoga practice. Lauri will guide you through a series of poses designed to balance the nervous system and restore the body from head to toe. Leave with increased mobility, less mental and physical tension, and a little more peace.
Who is this training for?
- Humans of any age and background who are interested in Yin Yoga, no yoga experience necessary!
- Anyone who would like to feel more at ease in their body and more connected body, mind, and soul,
- Aspiring students to our future Yoga Teacher Training & Immersions, as this workshop is part of this year’s training.
