Movement + Rest

Led by Jenna Minnes

Join us for this free community offering to help you regulate your nervous system and find deep rest.  Global anxiety, grief, trauma and depression can create patterns in our bodies and minds that can bring up reactions unrelated to the current circumstance. Our nervous system fluctuates between the states of movement and rest, activation and discharge, stimulation and integration. Together we will explore what resources can help you to regulate your nervous system depending on your needs in the present moment, with the intention for you to increase your capacity during times of dysregulation.

Class will begin with some gentle somatic movement then you will lie on your back and enjoy a guided body scan meditation, called Yoga Nidra.  This practice helps you access a state of deep rest and relaxation, and can feel like a much needed deep breath throughout the whole body.

Please bring a journal, an item for the alter, and anything such as pillows and blankets to support deep, guided rest.

Who is this workshop for?

  • Humans of any age and background who are interested in learning how to deeply relax and rest, no experience necessary
  • Anyone who is working through grief and/or trauma or anything heavy and stuck
